Exclamation So... How do you calculate this.

I'm having some math problems at the moment

I have Blessed Aura (Divine favor = 13), so 32% longer
And I have a totem axe (Enchantments last 20% longer)

Wiki told me that you just can't add them together, but you need to stack them multiplicatively.

So, let's say I have a skill that lasts 7 seconds, how long does it stay up?

Thanks in advance,

I believe it would be:

7 * 1.32 * 1.2 = 11.088 (11 sec rounded down)

Hmm... That calculation is also multiplieing (sorry bad spells xD) the 1.32.. :S Shouldn't it be something like 7 + 0.34×7 + 0.2×7 = 10.78?

I might be wrong too, but this is how I would calculate it. Just 34% of 7 + the other 20% of 7.

Personally, I found it easier to just experiment with it myself. Time it yourself ingame. Check for yourself to see how long it lasts.

Much easier than doing calculations when you can just go ingame, cast the spell, and count it out yourself.

Wenspire is correct. Percentages do not stack additiviely. That is, if you have a 32% longer mod with a 20% longer mod, this is not the same as a 52% longer effect. You should multiply 1.2 by 1.32 to find the actual effect. Then multiply that by the skill's normal duration.

Also, be careful when computing durations when using skills which shorten things like recharge... a 33% shorter recharge should be computed differently... namely you should be multiplying by .67 = (1-.33).

Wenspire and bulldozer are correct. One more thing to add: The game rounds things at intermediate steps, but we're not quite sure which ones. Sometimes this can get you an off-by-one error even when you have the math correct.

For duration, I believe it rounds normally at the 0.5sec mark, so anything above x.50 would go to the next second and below would round down.

For attack speed, i believe 33% is the breakpoint needed for reach a 50% increase.
